Dedicated to presenting and preserving the cowboy ranching heritage and traditions of the Old West, this signature event for McKinney will play host to authentic chuckwagon contestants, western entertainers, artisans and equestrian demonstrations on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Roundup on the Range. This action-packed, family-oriented event will feature Friends of Skidboot, the world-renowned show dog and Robert Liner, the acclaimed horse trainer/entertainer appearing annually at the Texas State Fair as well as a myriad of family activities that will appeal to cowboys and cowgirls of all ages. Chuckwagon participants will compete for a highly competitive purse on the festival grounds at High Noon.
Proceeds from this event benefit Volunteer McKinney Center (VMC), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. The mission of VMC is to enhance the spirit of responsibility and serve in the region by facilitating volunteerism.
